The Modern Contemporary Black and White Interiors of Toorak House
You have seen many homes with black and white interiors. For sure, you love its minimal appeal and even the burst of colors from its accessories.
What is good about this combination is its versatility and how it appeals to many. Apart from that, it is also timeless and elegant.
No wonder many homes use this for their interior just like the house that we will feature today.
Sisalla Interior Design has recently completed the interior design of the new modern house named Toorak House. This is located in Melbourne, Australia and was built by HEADHOMES.

The interior of the Toorak House used a color palette of white and black. It also features a mix of modern and contemporary furniture.
The main floor of the home is open plan featuring the living room which is focused on a fireplace with a stone surround. Off the living room are a casual dining room and the backyard.
On the second floor of the house is another living room with the same color palette as the one below. It features large windows that are covered by soft billowing curtains. There is also wood shelving on either side of the fireplace which slides open to reveal a hidden bedroom and the television, as you can see in the image.
White walls have been combined with dark wood floor and black elements in the interior of the Toorak House. This combination is perfect to achieve a contemporary and minimalist interior.
This is the dining area which is anchored in the open plan room by a glass and metal chandelier. Aside from this, there is another dining area outdoors.
Opposite the dining room is a beautiful kitchen. It features a large island with a stone base that matches the fireplace. It provides an ample amount of counter space for food preparation. Its white countertops provide a contrast the dark cabinets in the area. There is also a window which allows the occupants to take a good look outside while in the kitchen.
Off to the side of the kitchen is the pantry which you can see in this image. It hides the fridge from the main living area. There are also dark built-in open shelving and additional cabinets that provide ample storage.

Near the stairs, there’s an office area with built-in dark wood cabinets. There is also a desk that is large enough for two people. This is a space saver office area which is perfect for long hallways.
On the top floor of the house is the bedroom. Notice that it used black frames for the windows that are a good contrast against the white walls and ceiling. From here, there is access to a rooftop deck and a master bedroom suite.
In the ensuite bathroom, it features a large window that adds plenty of natural light and the mirror helps to bounce that light around the room. Its tile backsplash in natural colors compliments the curtains and flooring, completing the look of the simple bathroom.
The owners would have a relaxing time while in this roof patio. This wood covered rooftop deck has views of the neighborhood and city in the distance.
There is also a simple black and white bathroom with slightly textured white tiles. It features a standalone bathtub and a walk-in glass shower.
In this angle, you can clearly see the casual dining room with folding doors that can be opened to the backyard, creating indoor/outdoor living.
Seen here is the facade of the house which features a black exterior for the upper area while on the lower part are sliding blinds. You can also get a glimpse of the home’s garage.
